Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana ‎(PMMY) its Details, Benefits, Eligibility & How to Apply this is what I am going to explain you in simple language.

Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modi ji started the mudra scheme to support financially small entrepreneurs by giving loans on reasonable or minimum interest rates.

MUDRA, Full form “Micro units Development and Refinance Agency Ltd.” is setup by the government of India.

Under this scheme loans upto 10 lakhs are provided. Loans has been classified in three categories majorly:

Shishu

Loan up to ₹50,000 (For Shishu loans, normally 7 to 10 days is the turn around time for processing the loan proposals on receipt of complete information.)

Kishore

Loan ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh

Tarun

Loan above ₹5 lakh and below ₹10 lakh

Generally, loans upto 10 lakh issued by banks under Micro Small Enterprises is given without collaterals.

Mudra loan is extended for a variety of purposes which provide income generation and employment creation. The loans are extended mainly for :

1. Business loan for Vendors, Traders, Shopkeepers and other Service Sector activities.
2. Working capital loan through MUDRA Cards.
3. Equipment Finance for Micro Units.
4. Transport Vehicle loans.

Following is list of the activities that can be covered under MUDRA loans:

1. Transport Vehicle

Purchase of transport vehicles for goods and personal transport such as auto rickshaw, small goods transport vehicle, 3 wheelers, e-rickshaw, passenger cars, taxis, etc.

2. Community, Social & Personal Service Activities

Saloons, beauty parlours, gymnasium, boutiques, tailoring shops, dry cleaning, cycle and motorcycle repair shop, DTP and Photocopying Facilities, Medicine Shops, Courier Agents, etc.

3. Food Products Sector

Activities such as papad making, achaar making, jam / jelly making, agricultural produce preservation at rural level, sweet shops, small service food stalls and day to day catering / canteen services, cold chain vehicles, cold storages, ice making units, ice cream making units, biscuit, bread and bun making, etc.

4. Textile Products Sector / Activity

Handloom, powerloom, khadi activity, chikan work, zari and zardozi work, traditional embroidery and hand work, traditional dyeing and printing, apparel design, knitting, cotton ginning, computerized embroidery, stitching and other textile non garment products such as bags, vehicle accessories, furnishing accessories, etc.

5. Business loans for Traders and Shopkeepers

Financial support for on lending to individuals for running their shops / trading & business activities / service enterprises and non-farm income generating activities with beneficiary loan size of upto 10 lakh per enterprise / borrower.

6. Equipment Finance Scheme for Micro Units

Setting up micro enterprises by purchasing necessary machinery / equipments with per beneficiary loan size of upto 10 lakh.

Mudra Card

Mudra card is a facility provided which issues debit card against the loan which you have taken and is very helpful with respect to that you don’t have to go again and again in front of bank manager to get the instalment of the loan. Just use it like a debit card. It ensures to track the record of the loan you have taken.

It is incorporated with Rupay (Provided by NPCI – National Payments Corporation Limited) to do the transactions for any purchase or use as ATM card or use on POS (Point of sales) machines or as overdraft credit cards.

How to Apply

1. Go to your near bank branch\financial institutions
2. Present your business idea along with filled application form(Along with KYC documents)
3. Complete all formalities as per required by bank
4. After completion loan will be sanctioned.
